Warning the following pictures are graphic and disturbing

Okay.... so may that's a little dramatic, but our upstairs bathroom was GROSS! It was seriously in need of some help. These are the before pictures.....
.
The tub was really icky...

So currently.... it is gutted. Down to the bare outside walls. There is a very attractive dump trailer on my front lawn full of what was the bathroom. I keep telling myself, it has to get worse before it can get better :)
To be honest it's quite exciting. Now we just have to pick out all the new stuff to put in there. We are really debating over the tile. It's such a permanent thing, that we don't want to hate it in five years. Chris is trying to talk me into the white tiles with black grout similar to what our master bathroom in Zurich was. I'm starting to agree with him. I'll keep you posted with the progress.

Decorating Fun

My kids have a great Dad. This week while Christmas shopping Chris came across a great deal on gingerbread house kits, so he bought one for each of the kids. It was great fun to put them together. Each child decorated their own, Vic had some assistance of course. The results were pretty cool!

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

We are anxiously awaiting our first Christmas on Blackbush Line. I'm hoping we will have some wonderful new memories in our new home. The stockings are hung on the bannister and the tree is set up in the living room... now if I could just get all those presents wrapped :)

Bracing Myself

Chris asked me to call about a dumpster today.... I believe our upstairs bathroom's days are very few in number. I guess I should have got him a hammer and wrecking bar for his birthday instead of a ladder :) Oh well, Christmas is just around the corner. I'll be brushing the plaster and drywall dust off my Christmas tree if you are looking for me ;) I'll post some before pictures of our upstairs bathroom soon!

First Things First

I don't know who thought that bubble gum pink was a good idea for a kitchen, but this absolutely HAD TO GO! I'm sure the picture doesn't really show the disgusting brown cat pee smelling carpet, but it was also gone IMMEDIATELY. I have instead opted for laminate... non smelly flooring. After much deliberation and consultation with Dena (thanks!) I went with a tan/brown colour for the walls. Much Much Much Better!

Living it up in the Country

We have arrived. 72528 Blackbush line is our new residence. What a change. The girls used to walk to school, usually leaving home between 8:30 and 8:45 and they'd just kind of trickle out the door as they were ready. Now the bus is at our laneway at 7:50. The nice part is we eat together, say a prayer and everyone leaves all at once. We work together to get ready and so far it's going quite well. By 8:00 the house is pretty much empty... just me and Vic, sometimes Warren too. It's so quiet out here. I love it. Now if I could just unpack all of the boxes! AAAHHH!

Let the Games Begin

Well here we go. I started a blog this summer for my photography business. The response from it has been very good. I've always enjoyed reading other personal blogs from friends like Monica and Krista, I love the little sneak peak into their everyday lives, and I thought hey why not give it a try. We'll see how it goes. :)
